For the LGBTQ community and our allies, Winter Party is a place to rejuvenate and recharge. A place to clear our heads, fill our hearts, and engage our minds. A place to let loose and kick up our heels. We live in a world that challenges us everyday; telling us we’re different, less than, other. And while that may be changing, progress is slow, and inequality persists. It can wear on even the strongest among us. It makes us long for safe havens, places where we can be ourselves, surrounded by our chosen family and accepted and loved just the way we are. Winter Party is that place, a safe haven where we can LIVE FREE.
Founded in 1994, the original Winter Party featured a single event: a dance party on the beach. It was an instant hit, and Winter Party has grown ever since, becoming an iconic week-long festival featuring dozens of events and drawing crowds by the thousands from around the globe. Our method is part genius and part magic. We feature an amazing mix of people, music, entertainment and international DJ talent, and we do so in the exhilarating, world-class venues of Miami Beach. So why not take a break from the icy cold winter? Soak up the sun, breathe in the ocean air, and get ready to PLAY HARD.
Our underlying purpose is much larger than the festival itself. Winter Party is a fundraising venture produced by, and in support of, the National LGBTQ Task Force. We are committed to forward-thinking progressive change, both locally and nationally. The Task Force also donates a significant portion of the proceeds raised at Winter Party and its sister event, the Task Force Gala, to the LGBTQ+ Equity Fund, a philanthropic and grant-making partnership between the Task Force , The Miami Foundation, and Our Fund Foundation. Since 2005, we’ve given back more than $3.3 million and supported nearly 90 community organizations in South Florida. This money plays an essential role in empowering and elevating the community, and would not be possible without your support!
