Ted Eiel
Whip: A Leather Fantasy
|
To any of the more than 5,000 CHUNKHOUSE subscribers on iTunes, there's little mystery as to why DJ Ted Eiel (pronounced ILE or AISLE) has become a favorite at clubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London, and a headliner for such events as Folsom Street, IML, Sanctuary, and MEGAWOOF. With over fifteen years of experience, Chicago-based Eiel is well known for his funky, chunky, meaty dirty beats-an aggressively masculine sound that has been inspired by underground tracks drawn from classic house, electro, disco, and rock. As Eiel says, "I love hearing [that] I've opened people's ears to a whole new range of dance music [comprising] bold, melodic, progressive tracks driven by inspired bass lines." In little more than two years, over 250,000 Eiel mixes have been downloaded to dance aficionados all over the world. Drawing inspiration from DJ/producers Starkillers, Pete Tong, and Satoshi Tomiie, among others, Eiel has made real his personal mantra: "No regrets before I die." As Eiel says, "I am living my dream"-and any CHUNKHOUSE fan would toast to that.

George Figares
Closing Party
|
Trained on the piano, clarinet, and saxophone, George Figares spent his youth surrounded by so much music that his entrance at fifteen into the underground rave culture seemed a natural progression. With his passion for music and musical composition, Figares began deejaying at seventeen-whereupon, barely legal, he was awarded residencies at Miami Beach favorites such as Funkshion Lounge Fridays, China Grill Wednesdays, and Seven Lounge. As a student at SAE Institute Miami, Figares combined his musical gifts with technical skills, and in short order, began collaborations with other deejays and producers, resulting in his signing with HMSP Music and his EP release "Can't Stop" (available on Beatport/Juno). Recent work has included the remix of Rachel Panay's "Repeat Performance", as well as an original track with Joey Ralon. With his Orlando residency at Revolution, his residency at South Beach's Sunday night smash CLICK, and his recently announced residency at Halo Lounge, there's little question that Figares has become South Florida's latest sensation.
